First Days at CNN's Anerson Cooper 360

My name is Averi Harper and I'm a rising senior majoring in electronic communication from Long Island, New York. This summer I'm interning at CNN with Anderson Cooper 360. 

I've been here for a week and a half. CNN in NYC may not be the headquarters, but it's equally (if not more) beautiful. I have a gorgeous view of Columbus Circle and Central Park.

And I'm down the block from all the great magazines at Hearst. I just ate lunch with Alyssa (CAFME co-pres and ELLE magazine intern) yesterday!

My duties here include researching stories for senior producers, greeting guests, running the teleprompter for Anderson during pre-taped portions of our show and attending editorial meetings where we plan out the show on a board.

I have a different experience than most interns here at CNN because I work from the early afternoon until after the show's first daily airing at 9 p.m. 

Anderson is really nice, too. He offered all the interns professional advice about our budding careers in television. It's been awesome so far!
